Your Donation Goes Directly to Pay For Jay's Care
As the disease advances, Jay's need for 24/7 skilled care has become even more essential. The cost of his care is approximately $4,000 a week and is not covered by insurance. Here's a brief list of the level of care that Jay requires:
- Management of a tracheostomy, using a ventilator, as well as suctioning care
- Nutrition via a feeding tube
- Assistance with communication devices
- Management of bowel programs
- Assistance with mobility while managing energy reserves
- Administration of medications and treatments, including IV
- Dressing and grooming
- Bathing and toileting
- Repositioning, and transferring
- Physical therapy
- Watching for signs of pain, skin breakdown or breathing problems that may need attention
- Transportation
